The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum

Dallas, Texas

LLD’s relationship with the George W. Bush Presidential Library started in mid 2013 upon a request of the President’s staff to do an on-site review of the President’s personal office and offering a solution to improve the lighting levels. After a full lighting renovation of his office an ongoing relationship was established. The library does new exhibits twice a year opening in mid-March and late November each year. LLD is about to participate in it’s 10th exhibit and counting and it is a pleasure each year to see what that year’s theme will be. Past exhibit themes included baseball, First Lady dresses, elections, political humor and twice feature The President’s artwork honoring veterans and immigration. Each exhibit comes together through aiming and adjusting/re-positioning a series of hundreds of adjustable track fixtures. All of this work is on 2 to 3 days of pneumatic manlifts and typically ends with lighting control programming and measuring lighting levels for archival quality pieces traded through other presidential libraries, and of course, a private preview from the President or First Lady.
