Montage Palmetto Bluff

Nestled along the May River in the low country of South Carolina, the Montage Palmetto Bluff was a major expansion and enhancement of an already award-winning resort known for its 5-star southern charm and sophistication. Careful study and observation were initially made to the existing exterior site that has its own established aesthetic filled with dim lighting and warm gas fired fixtures. The challenge was to update and blend the new with the old and create no definitive line between existing and new. For interior lighting the LLD scope of work included the design of all public interior spaces of the resort. Working carefully with the design team, LLD did not want to over-fixture the project, but rather to concentrate on accent lighting opportunities and concealed lighting techniques amongst decorative pendants and sconces.
The resort opened August 2016 with a multitude of varying new guest room and suite experiences, along with new meeting and function spaces, including a ballroom. Other hotel areas in the LLD scope included a full service spa, salon and fitness area, multiple interior and exterior food and beverage venues, and a new pool and pool deck.
