Even in 2012, Austin was a very sought after city for re-location and job opportunities so this project fit in at the perfect time. A 36 floor apartment building with several amenity levels and exterior decks, including Level 36’s pool deck made this an attractive selection to live. LLD’s scope of work included the exterior building façade, which became award winning, and all common interior, front of house lobby and amenity areas, and three highly designed above-grade exterior decks. A smart client allowed some upgraded lighting controls to be introduced to the project which immediately gave the project an aesthetic edge over their competitor’s properties who were as close as across the street. This project came into the LLD office before we felt LED was viable enough with color consistency and dimming control, so compact fluorescent and halogen accent solutions were employed but careful fixture selections still has the project awarded with a LEED Silver Certification.
